If you are a bride-to-be, there must be a million and one concerns going through your head including how to get perfect skin to make everything perfect for that day. Here are some helpful tips for you to ensure that your skin glows brightly on your special day.
One Year Before the Wedding
-
Consult a Dermatologist
Make an appointment with your dermatologist and lay your concerns down for them to make a plan to address specific skin problems. It can take a while for clearing away pigmentation and acne so get a head start and see your dermatologist as soon as possible.
-
Make the right skincare routine and be consistent
Identify the needs of your skin and create a well-tailored skincare regimen choosing all the right ingredients. A perfect skincare routine generally includes a face wash, a moisturizer, an antioxidant and vitamin C serum, an alpha hydroxy acid or vitamin A based cream, and a zinc-based sunscreen. For dark circles, puffiness around the eyes, or crepey skin, an eye cream can come in handy. While addressing any skin concern, you have to keep it in mind that it takes 3-4 months to see results of any skincare regimen. So you start earlier and stick with it.

Try out the injectable treatments
Injectable treatments such as Botox or fillers can work magic on your skin. However, you need to consult with your skin care practitioner and tell them your concerns and goals with the treatments and see if they recommend it to you or not. If you decide to have the treatments follow up with an appointment after two weeks to review your results with your physician.
Fillers typically last from 6 months to more than a year while Botox can last for only 3 months. It is advised that you experiment with these injectable treatments long before your wedding for it to be less stressful. If you find them beneficial, you can schedule a treatment within an appropriate time before the wedding.

Consider lasers and peels
Skin treatments like peels and lasers are the best choice if you have only 6 months to your wedding. These treatments increase cell turnover and bring out the healthy smooth skin from underneath. Skincare products like retinoids and antioxidant serums help recover from these treatments fast and improve your results.
You can choose from a superficial peel or laser such as fractional resurfacing or intense pulsed light, brilliant and clear laser. If you choose more gentle treatments, you may need more than one treatment for outstanding results. Schedule your last treatment one month before the event.
60 days before the Wedding
If you had found your injectable treatment good for your skin’ health, now you need a little touch-up before the big day. In this way, you will still find some time to correct it before the wedding if anything is not perfect.

Do Not Experiment
Stick to the normal skincare routine that you found beneficial. This is not the time to try new things. Avoid salt and alcohol as it can make your eyes puffy. Sit back, relax and celebrate. Workout and ensure better sleep to deal with those last-minute stressors.
-
Exfoliate and Moisturzie
Look for the chemical exfoliation skincare products with alpha hydroxy acid or beta hydroxy acid to remove the dead skin cells from the surface of your skin. You can use a chemical exfoliating in a wash or lotion. Apply moisturizer after that as it will penetrate deeper into the skin after exfoliation. Avoid using physical scrubs like brushes or loofah as they remove healthy living cells as well which makes skin dehydrated and damaged.
-
Do Not Tan
Tan is bad for your skin for many reasons. Tanning is just radiating your skin, causing mutations leading to age spots, wrinkles, and skin cancer.
If you want to get a little bit of tan, do it with a self-tanner that is right for you. However, keep it in mind that self-tanner doesn’t always look good on the face and it is hard to remove. Therefore, get yourself a bronzer if you really need that sun-kissed glow.
